Story

The Schuylkill River is the dominant and unifying feature of this landscape. Although the Lower Schuylkill River landscape is highly developed, signi cant riparian habitat remains along the riv- er and some of its tributaries. The riparian corridor along the river is also the location of major transportation arteries, including railroads and the Schuylkill Expressway, which unfortunately cut off direct access to the river except for a few points such as Flat Rock Park in Lower Merion Township and Spring Mill Park in Whitemarsh Township.
